1. About these Terms and the operator
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern access to and use of the MONDA Legal mobile application, website, payment pages, communications tools and related services (together, the “Platform”). The Platform is operated by EL-Grey Industries. The exact legal entity receiving a payment will be identified on the Paystack checkout page, transaction receipt or subscription confirmation.
Contact details
By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, clicking “Accept”, or using the Platform, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. Nature of the Platform
MONDA Legal is a technology intermediary and service-administration platform. EL-Grey Industries and MONDA Legal are not a law firm, do not practise law through the Platform, and are not an insurance company.
The Platform may connect three separate parties:
MONDA Legal provides account management, legal-matter intake, appointment booking, secure communications, document or evidence storage, subscription administration and related technology services. Legal advice and representation are provided only by an independent Partner Law Firm that accepts the engagement. Insurance cover and claims decisions are provided only by the named Insurance Partner.
3. Eligibility and authority
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract. An organisation may use the Platform only through a person authorised to act for it.
You must provide accurate, current and complete information. We may request identity documents, including a Ghana Card or another government-issued identity document, and may conduct verification where required by law, payment rules, insurer requirements, partner-law-firm onboarding, fraud prevention or risk management.
You must not impersonate another person, use another person’s payment method without permission, or provide false or misleading information.
4. Accounts and security
You are responsible for keeping your password, verification codes and devices secure. You must notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless the activity resulted from our failure to use reasonable security measures.
We may suspend access where we reasonably suspect fraud, misuse, a security incident, non-payment, breach of these Terms or a legal or regulatory risk. Where practicable, we will explain the reason and the steps required to restore access.
5. Subscriptions, prices and payments
Subscription plans, features, duration, legal-support limits, insurance status, waiting periods and prices will be displayed before purchase. Unless expressly stated otherwise, prices are quoted in Ghana cedis and may include applicable taxes.
Payments processed through Paystack may include:
MONDA Legal does not use Paystack to receive client-account or escrow funds, court awards, settlement proceeds, investment funds, loan repayments, remittances, donations, or insurance claim proceeds.
By selecting a recurring plan, you authorise recurring charges at the stated interval until cancellation. You may cancel future renewal through the Platform or by contacting us before the next billing date. Cancellation stops future renewal but does not automatically create a refund for a completed billing period.
Paystack or your bank may decline, reverse or delay a transaction. We are not responsible for bank or payment-network delays, but we will reasonably assist with transaction tracing and approved refunds.
6. Legal services and Partner Law Firms
A lawyer-client relationship is formed only when a Partner Law Firm confirms acceptance of your matter, completes any conflict and identity checks, and, where required, issues an engagement letter. Opening a MONDA account or submitting a question does not by itself create a lawyer-client relationship.
Partner Law Firms act independently. They control professional judgment, advice, conflict decisions, staffing, case strategy and whether they can accept or continue a matter. MONDA Legal does not direct, supervise or guarantee their professional work.
A Partner Law Firm may require additional documents, identity checks, engagement terms or payment arrangements. Legal work outside the selected plan or insurance cover may attract separate legal fees payable under the law firm’s engagement terms.
MONDA Legal does not share legal fees with Partner Law Firms except where an arrangement is expressly lawful. Platform subscription fees are for technology, administration and stated plan benefits; professional legal fees remain subject to the applicable professional-conduct rules and the Partner Law Firm’s engagement.
No outcome is guaranteed. Court decisions, negotiations, regulatory actions and other legal outcomes depend on facts and circumstances outside the control of MONDA Legal and the Partner Law Firm.
7. Legal-expense insurance
Some plans may include legal-expense insurance. The insurer’s identity, policy wording, key exclusions, waiting periods, excess, cover limit, territorial scope and claims process must be made available before or at purchase.
The Insurance Partner—not MONDA Legal—underwrites the risk, decides claims, interprets the policy and pays approved benefits. MONDA Legal is not an insurer and does not guarantee that a claim will be accepted.
Cover is normally conditional on an active subscription and the terms of the insurance policy. Incidents occurring before cover begins, during a waiting period, after a subscription lapses or outside the policy scope may not be covered.
Where the subscription includes an insurance component, cancellation and refund of that component are governed by the insurance policy, applicable insurance law and the licensed insurer’s procedures. Complaints about insurance decisions should first be made to the Insurance Partner and may then be escalated to the National Insurance Commission where applicable.
8. Appointments, calls, chat and evidence
Audio and video consultations conducted through the Platform are not recorded by MONDA Legal unless a separate, prominent notice is provided and all required consents are obtained. Call metadata—such as date, time, participants, connection status and duration—may be logged for security, billing, service verification, quality control and insurance administration.
Chat messages, support requests, instructions and uploaded documents may be stored as part of the Platform record. Users should not rely on audio or video calls as the only record of important instructions or deadlines.
You retain ownership of documents and other content you upload. You grant MONDA Legal a limited licence to host, copy, transmit and process that content solely to operate the Platform, provide the requested service, comply with law and support Partner Law Firms or Insurance Partners involved in your matter.
You must have the right to upload the content. Do not upload unlawful, malicious, misleading, infringing or irrelevant material. You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of information supplied.
9. Confidentiality and legal privilege
We use reasonable measures to protect confidential information. However, legal privilege depends on the law and the circumstances. Information sent to MONDA Legal before a Partner Law Firm accepts an engagement may not automatically be protected by lawyer-client privilege.
Where necessary to arrange services, administer cover, process payments, prevent fraud or comply with law, information may be shared with the relevant Partner Law Firm, Insurance Partner, Paystack, technology provider, regulator, court or professional adviser in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
10. Acceptable use
You must not use the Platform to:
11. Intellectual property
EL-Grey Industries and its licensors own the Platform software, design, branding and non-user content. Subject to these Terms, you receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the Platform for its intended purpose.
You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, distribute, sell, sublicense or create derivative works from the Platform except where the law does not permit that restriction.
12. Cancellation, suspension and termination
You may cancel renewal at any time. Refund eligibility is governed by the Refund Policy and applicable law.
We may terminate or suspend an account for material breach, fraud, misuse, non-payment, legal or regulatory requirements, risk to another person, or where continued service is impracticable. We will use reasonable efforts to provide notice unless urgent action is required.
Termination does not remove obligations that arose before termination. Provisions on payments, confidentiality, intellectual property, liability, disputes and records continue where their nature requires.
13. Third-party services
The Platform depends on third-party services, including Paystack, telecommunications networks, cloud hosting, app stores, insurers and independent law firms. Their terms and privacy practices may also apply.
We are not responsible for a third party’s independent professional decision, banking decision, insurance claim decision, outage or breach, except to the extent the law makes us responsible.
14. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Platform is provided with reasonable care and skill, but availability may be interrupted for maintenance, security, network failure or events outside reasonable control. MONDA Legal is not an emergency service and should not be used where immediate police, medical, court or other emergency assistance is required.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, EL-Grey Industries is not liable for indirect, consequential or special loss, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, loss caused by inaccurate information supplied by the user, or the independent professional acts or omissions of a Partner Law Firm or Insurance Partner.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct or any statutory consumer right.
15. Complaints and disputes
Platform, billing or refund complaints should be sent to enquiries@el-grey.co.uk with the account email, transaction reference and a clear description. We will acknowledge and investigate the complaint within a reasonable time.
Complaints about legal advice or professional conduct should be directed to the Partner Law Firm and, where appropriate, the relevant professional regulator. Insurance complaints should be directed to the Insurance Partner and may be escalated to the National Insurance Commission.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. The parties should first attempt good-faith negotiation and, where appropriate, mediation in Ghana. If unresolved, the courts of Ghana will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory law.
16. Changes to the Platform or Terms
We may update the Platform and these Terms to reflect service, legal, security or operational changes. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform, website or email and will take effect on the date stated. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
17. General provisions
If part of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Failure to enforce a right is not a waiver. You may not transfer your account or rights without written permission. We may transfer the operation of the Platform as part of a lawful reorganisation, sale or service transfer, subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
